Maehwa, meaning plum blossom in Korean, is inspired by a moment Cristiana and Christopher of Giopato & Coombes experienced in a Seoul park, surrounded by blooming trees and people gazing upward in wonder. This serene memory informed the Maehwa collection’s organic structure and poetic expression. The design explores a balance between nature and abstraction, with glass spheres—reminiscent of buds—suspended in space like delicate petals in motion. Each hand-blown element gently embraces the light source, offering a soft, glowing presence. The result is a composition that feels both fluid and weightless, with light subtly modulated through the ethereal, glazed glass surface.
